Atlantic Meats opened its doors for business on September 10, 1990 and continues to be a key supplier to many restaurants and stores through out Cape Breton and mainland Nova Scotia.  Atlantic Meats was founded by Eric Dolan and his wife Cathy Dolan with several staff members buying shares in the business and believing in the future success of the business.  In January of 2002, Eric and Cathy retired from the business and their son Sandy took over as president of the company.  In May of 2004, Sandy purchased the shares from Eric and Cathy and remains President and owner to present day.

Eric Dolan worked in the meat industry for most of his working life. He was the branch manager for the Sydney plant for Swift and Gainers for 35 years until their closure in the late 1980’s.  In his words, the closure of the Sydney branch was a corporate decision out of Toronto even though the branch made money for the company right up until the day it closed.  With this knowledge in hand, the idea for Atlantic Meats was born.  After several years of hard work and at age 59, Eric Dolan’s dream for Atlantic Meats finally came true when it opened for business in 1990.

Today, Atlantic Meats continues to operate on much of the same principals that were put in place by Eric and Cathy.  We pride ourselves in great customer service.  Our staff of which several of them were former Swift and Gainers employees is knowledgeable and hard working.  With the generous continued support of customers, Atlantic Meats will continue to be a strong player in the supply chain for many of the Nova Scotia stores and restaurants.  We hold food safety as our highest priority.

In closing, we take no order for granted and strive for quality every time at competitive prices.  We take pride in being your Local supplier in this global industry.
